Attorneys Julie Steinbacher, Landon Hodges and Jenna Franks, all partners at the elder law firm of Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, were sworn into the U.S. Supreme Court Bar during a ceremony held at the Court in Washington, D.C. earlier this year.

Being admitted to the Supreme Court to practice before the Court allows them to argue cases before the Court - essentially practice law in its jurisdiction. Though far more attorneys are admitted to the Court than will actually ever argue a case before it, it nonetheless is considered a tremendous accomplishment and one of the greatest honors of a career for any attorney.

To qualify for admission to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, an attorney must already be admitted to practice law in the highest court of a state, commonwealth or territory for at least three years. All three attorneys are already members of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Bar. They also must be sponsored by two current members of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar.

Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, and elder law and special needs law firm with locations in State College, Williamsport, Wyalusing and Wysox, Pa., has been named to Pennsylvania Business Central's Fifty to Follow Women-Owned Businesses, an annual list of the top 50 women-owned organizations in its coverage area. Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak was founded by Attorney Julie Steinbacher, CELA, LLM, in 2002 in Williamsport. It has since grown from a single office to four, and also counts two other women as partners in Attorneys Jenna Franks and Kathleen Yurchak.

This marks the third straight year and the sixth time in the last eight years that the law firm has appeared on this annual list. SGY also was named to the "Fifty to Follow" list of women-owned businesses in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022. The list appears each June in PA Business Central's Women in Business special edition. Readers of the publication submit nominations from communities across its 23-county readership, and the final list is chosen by a blue-ribbon panel. The final list represents both large and small, and well-established and start-up organizations.

Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, an elder law and special needs law firm with locations in State College, Williamsport, Wyalusing and Wysox, Pa., is pleased to announce the addition of Attorney Alex DeLuca as an associate attorney. A 2022 graduate of Widener Commonwealth Law School in Harrisburg, Alex will work out of the firm's State College office on the estate and long-term care planning team and assist clients with their basic estate and long-term care planning needs.

During his time as a law student at Widener, Alex gained experience in the legal field by working as a certified legal intern for the Central PA Civil Law Clinic for five months, where he helped represent clients for their legal needs in the areas of estate planning, no-fault divorce, custody, bankruptcy and judgement enforcement. He drafted and filed various legal memos and documents and conducted legal research to fulfill clients' needs. For about a year, Alex also served as a legal intern at Audi Law, a general practice law firm in Hershey, where he assisted attorneys on various legal work, including drafting complaints, memorandums and motions to the court. He also assisted with legal research and analysis to help achieve positive outcomes for clients. During the summer of 2019, prior to entering law school, Alex was a Pennsylvania House of Representatives Fellow, where he assisted committees in drafting bill analysis and writing consituent letters.

Prior to law school, Alex earned a bachelor of science degree in management from Saint Vincent College, where he was a three-time all-conference selection on the men's tennis team.
