For the second straight year, five attorneys from Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, an elder law firm with locations in State College, Williamsport, Wyalusing and Wysox, have been named 2021 Super Lawyers® and Rising Stars. Attorney Julie Steinbacher, the founding shareholder of Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, and Attorney Amos Goodall were both named Super Lawyers, which represents the top five percent of practicing attorneys in each state. Attorneys Jenna Franks, Landon Hodges and Brittany Smith were once again named Rising Stars.

Produced and compiled by Thomson Reuters, Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is patented and multiphased, and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Selections are made annually and on a state-by-state basis.

The Rising Stars selection process is the same as that for Super Lawyers, with one key difference: candidates must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. All attorneys first go through the Super Lawyers selection process, with those not selected as Super Lawyers but meeting either of one of the Rising Stars eligibility requirements remaining eligible for the Rising Star designation. While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, Rising Stars represent no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in each state.

This marks Julie's second consecutive inclusion in Super Lawyers. She was previously a Rising Star for three straight years from 2011-13 before being named a Super Lawyer for the first time last year. She has been licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania since 2000, and founded the law firm of Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak in 2002. See Julie's Super Lawyers Profile

This is Amos' 17th consecutive year of being designated a Super Lawyer, as he has earned the honor in every year since 2005. He has been practicing law in State College, Pa., since 1974 and along with Kathleen Yurchak, founded the law firm of Goodall & Yurchak, which was acquired by Steinbacher Law in 2015. Amos is the only designated Super Lawyer in the estate planning and probate and elder law categories in State College, and he and Jenna are the only two Super Lawyers or Rising Stars in the elder law category out of State College. See Amos' Super Lawyers Profile

Jenna joined Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak in 2017 and has been practicing law in the firm's State College office since that time. Landon also joined the firm in 2017 and works out of all four of the firm's locations: State College, Williamsport, Wyalusing and Wysox. He was promoted to a partner of the firm in May. Brittany has been with Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak since 2015 and has been licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania since 2014. She works out of the Williamsport office and heads up the firm's estate administration and long-term care planning departments out of the Williamsport office. Along with Julie, Landon and Brittany make up over a third (3 of 8) of all attorneys in the Williamsport area in the elder law category to have received either Super Lawyer or Rising Star designation.

Additionally, Attorney Leslie Wizelman, whose law firm in Wyalusing and Wysox was acquired by Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak in May, was also named a Super Lawyer in 2021, marking the fourth time in her career that she garnered the honor, having also earned the designation from 2010-12. Upon the completion of Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak acquiring the firm, Attorney Wizelman retired after nearly 40 years of service as an elder law attorney in Bradford County and the surrounding Northern Tier of Pennsylvania. Her former staff in the Wyalusing and Wysox offices became employees of Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, and along with Attorney Hodges, continue to provide the same services to clients in the Northern Tier.
