Kristin Daugherty is a Long-Term Care Planner with Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, where she has dedicated more than 15 years to serving clients and their families. She manages the firm’s seventh office location in Muncy and oversees the Elder Care Navigation Departments across all seven offices, ensuring a high level of support and coordination for individuals navigating complex care decisions.
In her role, Kristin works closely with the firm’s attorneys to guide clients through every stage of long-term care planning. Her services include counseling on long-term care options, assisting clients in qualifying for programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans’ benefits, providing comprehensive elder care navigation, and proactively helping families protect assets from the high cost of future care.
Kristin is a Certified Medicaid Planner™ through The Wealth Institute - one of only a limited number of professionals in Pennsylvania to hold this designation. She is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Trainer through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, equipping her to educate and train professionals on best practices for supporting individuals living with dementia.
Driven by her passion for dementia care, Kristin serves as an Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator and is a trained facilitator with Second Wind Dreams as a Virtual Dementia Tour® trainer. She is an active member of Dementia-Focused Practice, collaborating with elder law firms nationwide to promote dementia-friendly practices within the legal field. Locally, she is leading efforts to establish Dementia Friendly Lycoming County, working to create a more supportive and informed community for individuals and families affected by dementia.
Kristin is a graduate of Lycoming College and began her career as a case manager with the STEP Office of Aging, where she worked within the Pennsylvania Department of Aging Waiver Program. She is also trained through the Pennsylvania Institute of Protective Services to provide Older Adult Protective Services for individuals at high risk for abuse or neglect.
Kristin resides in Hughesville, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Kyle, and their two children, Kendall and Kyler.
