Each quarter, employees from Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak routinely particpate in community events. Here's a summary of the various activities that SGY representatives took part in during the fourth quarter of 2019 (October - December).

In October, Jenna Franks, Esq., Sarah Kehres, Executive Director, and Haley Deibert, Legal Assistant, attended the grand opening of Harmony at State College, a senior living community offering spacious independent living apartments, personal care, and memory care services.

Kyle Hetner, Client Communications Coordinator, facilitated the Lycoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held at the South Williamsport Park complex on October 12. Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak was one of 33 teams to participate. Sarah brought her pooch, Lola, to join the walkers in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

Jenna and Haley laced up their sneakers to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease during the State College Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held on October 26, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The walk overachieved their fundraising goals and raised a shocking $114,002.00! Every dollar raised goes towards working to advance care, support, and research across the world for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

The Centre County Senior Center Coalition (CCSCC) held their annual fundraiser, NovemberFest, on November 7, at the Boalsburg Fire Hall. Jenna and Haley are active members of CCSCC. Haley organized and facilitated the evening’s activities. Doan’s Bones BBQ catered delicious pulled pork and mac & cheese, while Moe’s provided chips and salsa. It was a great night full of games, raffle prizes, and a live auction with destination items. All proceeds raised support the six senior centers in Centre County.

On November 12, Jenna spoke at the Adult Children of Aging Parents (ACAP) monthly meeting regarding the top five conversations to have with your children. It was a lively group, and Jenna was able to interact with the ACAP attendees and answer their questions related to estate planning documents and long-term care options. Jenna is currently serving as a board member for ACAP.

Landon Hodges, Esq., attended Quizzo night hosted by the Lycoming Law Association. Landon and his fellow colleagues competed against a team comprised of Lycoming County judges. Although the judges may have been intimidating, the Lycoming Law Association members came out on top.

Jersey Shore Area High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) hosted a Day of Caring to spread awareness about the new Jersey Shore Love Center. Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak was one of the proud sponsors and encouraged its staff to wear honorary t-shirts in support of the cause. All the proceeds raised from the t-shirt sale benefitted the new Jersey Shore Love Center and the purchase of turkeys for holiday care packages.

6 Juniper trail of trees JF HDJenna and Haley decorated Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak’s snowman tree, “Ben E. Ficiary” for Juniper Village’s Trail of Trees (left). Juniper Village turned their facility into a winter wonderland with donated Christmas trees from area businesses. The public was invited to vote for their favorite trees and charitable donations were made on behalf of the winning organizations.

On December 11, Kathleen Yurchak, Esq., attended a holiday reception hosted by PNC Wealth Management, at the Centre Hills Country Club, in State College. It was a festive evening networking with colleagues. PNC Wealth Management provides banking services, trust and estate services, and investment management strategies.

Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak was proud to sponsor National Wreaths Across America Day, held at cemeteries throughout the country, on December 14. Wreaths were placed at veterans’ grave markers within Williamsport’s Wildwood Cemetery to raise awareness of the sacrifices veterans have made for our country and encourage more people to remember.

Employees of Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak gathered at Stella A’s Bar & Grill in Lock Haven, for their annual holiday party. There was a delicious array of entrees, including lemon-crusted, parmesan haddock and grilled chicken parmesan. For dessert, no one could resist the warm, homemade, chocolate-lava brownies! After lunch, staff played pass the present. It was an enjoyable afternoon celebrating with coworkers!
